Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

We’re doing a special Twitter promotion for DRAGONBALL: EVOLUTION tickets. These are only good for the S.F. Bay Area. DRAGONBALL: EVOLUTION opens in theaters April 10. This promotion ends on 4/20/2009.

We’re in the process of moving KungFuMagazine.com to a new server. That’s what’s been affecting the forum service over the last week and we apologize for any interruption of service or lost posts. The new server is more reliable and secure. What’s more, we’re laying the groundwork for some updates to our website. Thank you all for your continued support and patience.

We’ve got two new reviews from our resident critic, Dr. Craig Reid, both on the cartoon invasion of martial arts media. First is DRAGONBALL: EVOLUTION: Manga Meets American Movieland starring Chow Yun Fat, Justin Chatwin and Jamie Chung. The second is Matt Mullins: The New KAMEN RIDER. You’ll also find two Wudang articles. First is RZA on Breath Control, Martial Arts and Being a Student, part three in my RZA interview trilogy as well as Women of Wudang by David Wei, who also contributed to our Wudang Special. Part one of my RZA interview is also online, but for part two, you have to see our 2009 March/April Wudang Special. What’s more, for the serious researchers out there, we’ve published The Rosetta Stone of Traditional Chinese Martial Arts by our own forum regular Salvatore Canzonieri. This unique contribution has video and a chart for download.

Save the date! On June 27th, 2009, we’ll be holding our first tournament – Tiger Claw’s KungFuMagazine.com Championship – at the San Jose Convention Center, San Jose, CA. Watch this site for upcoming details! We hope to see you there!

Enter for your chance to win SECRETS OF THE FURIOUS FIVE. Contest ends 6:00 p.m. PST on 4/13/09. Good luck everyone!

Be sure to check out our new issue, the May June 2009, with Grandmaster Chen Xiaowang on the cover, on the newsstands now. Help support Kung Fu Tai Chi magazine by subscribing!.
